Pastor Ethan and his wife Melissa moved from Texas back to their hometown of Ludington, Michigan in 2017 with ministry on their hearts. Not quite knowing where God was leading they spent several years in the community working at a coffee shop. They spent time getting to know people, their stories and continually asking God what He wanted to do next. After the wake of Covid in 2022 Pioneer Church was launched with a heart and passion to reach the next generation, and create a meaningful community. Seeking lost and distant souls and taking risks is all essential to our core values. We are so excited that you are here and we can't wait to see what God is going to do next with Pioneer Church!

Lead Pastor

Ethan Ambrose

Ethan, along with his wife and their two little boys followed the prompting of the Holy Spirit and founded Pioneer Church in 2022, knowing that God wants to connect with those far from Him.

When he is not working in the church you can typically find him in a coffee shop throwing back way too much caffeine, or spending quality time with his family .

Associate Pastor

Thomas Drenth

Tom has been serving Pioneer as an Associate Pastor since our launch in 2022. With over 40 years of ministry under his belt he has truely seen it all! Tom leads the mens ministry as well as helping in the preaching ministry.

When Tom isn't helping with the church you can typically find him in one of the many gyms he owns, fixing eqipment or starting a renovation project.

Worship Leader

Melissa Ambrose

Melissa is a wife and mother that passionately serves Pioneer Church. Her authenticity sets a beautiful tone for those that get to experience worship around her. Her life is true testimony of Jesus and everything that He is.

Sunday Morning

This spot is the heart of the church! Sunday mornings here are like our superhero team-up before tackling the week ahead. Our Service is simple, fun, down to earth where everyone fits right in, and everything makes sense.
